William Laffan is a Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist attorney with over 30 years of experience in litigating and handling work injury claims. William’s extensive Workers’ Compensation experience includes representing a range of private and public sector clients including serving as senior counsel for Traveler’s Insurance Company, where he handled national accounts for Fortune 500 companies such as Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Pacific Tube, and Carnation.
At Traveler’s, he also handled claims for the entertainment and horse-racing industries. These claims involved high-exposure physical and psychological injuries for a range of employees from senior level executives to hourly wage earners.
William has a proven track record which includes having tried numerous cases to verdict. He has also handled multiple-party claims
and has taken thousands of employee, percipient witness, and expert depositions. Bill has extensive experience in rating and evaluating cases for successful resolution.
Known for his ability to partner with clients and to develop creative strategies for case resolution, William has represented clients as both Petitioner and Respondent in motions for reconsideration and appeals before California Courts of Appeal. Representing clients at all administrative boards in the tri-county area of Los Angeles, William has also represented a range of public sector clients including Los Angeles Unified School District, Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority, and the County of Los Angeles. Bill speaks both Korean and Spanish. He is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the California State Bar. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Southern District and the Ninth District Court of Appeals.
