Stuart Cohen

Stuart has over 11 years of experience in the area of labor and employment law. He has represented and advised companies of all sizes, ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. His representation has included writing company policies and litigating in state and federal court, as well as handling claims and charges brought before the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board. Stuart has counseled employers on liability and litigation risk management and provided everyday guidance on employment related topics.

Stuart has also practiced extensively in other areas of civil litigation. Many of his cases have included the defense of the State of California in mass multiple fatality accidents, defending engineers and architects in design defect cases and handling business litigation and breach of contract cases.

Stuart served as a commissioner on the Environmental Commission for the City of Calabasas.  During that time, he helped write groundbreaking policies, which were at the forefront of the current environmental conservation movement. Those policies included a ban of secondhand smoke exposure (the first city to implement such a policy) and a ban of single-use plastic bags (the second city to implement such a policy).

In his spare time, if he’s not on the golf course, you will find Stuart training for his next race. As an ultra-marathoner, he has competed in numerous marathons and completed a 50-mile race. Stuart is also a pace leader with the Los Angles Road Runners, the official training program of the Sketchers Performance Los Angeles Marathon.
