Richard is a highly experienced attorney whose practice focuses primarily on litigating work related injury claims before administrative tribunals throughout Southern California. He has a unique experience in defending a broad range of Workers’ Compensation matters, including cases under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. His clients include claims administrators, governmental entities and private corporations.
Richard transitioned into Workers’ Compensation practice after a 10-year career as an insurance adjuster. In addition, Richard gained years of invaluable experience in the Workers’ Compensation arena as a hearing representative. He has taken and defended countless depositions and has represented clients in mandatory arbitrations on complex coverage and contribution issues. Richard has also achieved successful outcomes at trial, including case dismissals and defense take nothings.
Richard has the ability to dissect the facts of a case and present the concepts and issues that best help the client to reach their desired outcome. He has the perfect balance of aggressiveness and likeability that is needed to efficiently resolve cases and avoid the endless paper pushing trap that plagues many practitioners in this field.
Richard is a graduate of Tulane law school and spends his free time camping, swimming, visiting places of historical interest and writing short stories of the science fiction genre.
